At the halfway mark of Series One of The Rough Guide to Everywhere (iTunes; Soundcloud), we invited poet-comedian Tim Key to tell us about his gap year in the Ukraine.
In this episode, Tim shares stories from his time in Kiev. Here he lived a "simple Ukrainian life" and sought the heart of a local woman named Helena.
We also hear some of Tim's tales from Southeast Asia, where he filmed the recent E4 series Gap Year. In the show, Tim stars as a middle-aged divorcee who tags along with a younger group of travellers.
In the second half, we speak to our very own travel editor Freya Godfrey. She tells us of her first impressions of India, and shares the story of an abandoned village, both laced together with rich audio recordings that she took on the road.
