Getting around Estonia: Transportation Tips

Bus tickets can be bought either from the bus station ticket office or directly from the driver. Online schedules are available at w tpilet.ee; buy tickets in advance if you’re travelling in the height of summer or at weekends. Although the rail network is limited, trains are as fast as buses and slightly cheaper (check wedel.ee for times and prices); purchase your ticket from the conductor.

The bigger cities have efficient public transport systems, and the whole country is very bicycle-friendly. Due to the scarcity of public transport on the islands, many locals hitchhike; the usual precautions apply.
