One of the most enjoyable weekends I have spent and it was not just because of the beauty of Oman´s beaches, dunes and wadi but also because of perfect job...
Inspired?Muscat is the only place in Oman where you’re even slightly spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation, while the level of competition here helps keep prices a bit more honest than in other parts of the country, although still no bargain. Muttrah is the place to head to for budget accommodation – with the added attraction of placing you right at the heart of Muscat’s most absorbing area, although if you’re looking for more upmarket lodgings you’ll have to go elsewhere. Accommodation in Ruwi is mainly aimed at business travellers, with a couple of budget options thrown in, and although none of the hotels here is of any particular distinction it’s one of the liveliest and most fun areas of the city in which to base yourself.
Further accommodation options can be found scattered across modern Muscat. These include a trio of mid-range places in the attractive suburb of Qurum Heights, along with a mix of mid- and top-end places further west around Shatti al Qurum and the contiguous suburbs of Hayy as Saruj and Ghubrah, plus a few mid-range, business-oriented options in nearby Khuwair. The peaceful area south of the city is home to a few further hotels, including the opulent Al Bustan Palace and the vast Shangri-La Barr al Jissah Resort.
